Brantley S. Clark, Jr. is a judge of the 14th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed to this court by Gov. Charlie Crist in April 2008 and took office the following month. He was re-elected without opposition to a new six-year term in 2016.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Clark was born in Quincy, Fla. on December 28, 1964. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Florida in 1987 and his J.D. degree from Mercer University-Walter F. George School of Law in 1990.[2][5]

Career

Clark has worked as an Assistant Public Defender, an assistant state attorney, an Assistant District Legal Counsel with the Florida Dept. of Health and Rehabilitative Services and a private practice lawyer. From October of 2004 to May of 2008, he was a General Magistrate in the 14th Judicial Circuit. He then joined the circuit court.[2]

Florida's 20 circuit courts all had seats up for election in 2016. Of the 151 seats up for election, 125 saw only one candidate file for the election. The unopposed races were canceled and the sole candidates were automatically elected. Of the 26 opposed races, only 10 saw more than two candidates file. [6]
