She was appointed to the court on March 14, 2022 by Gavin Newsom (D) to replace Kevin J. McGee. Prior to assuming office, Peariso served as Commissioner of the Ventura County Superior Court since 2022 and has been a sole practitioner since 2007. She previously was a Law Professor at the Southern California Institute of Law from 2008 to 2017. Peariso served as a Deputy Public Defender at the Ventura County Public Defender’s Office from 2000 to 2007, at the Santa Barbara County Public Defender’s Office in 2000 and at the Mendocino County Public Defender’s Office from 1998 to 2000.[1]

Education

Peariso received her J.D. from California Western School of Law.[1]
