Campaign themes

2016

The following issues were listed on Swinton's campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Air Quality: It’s an indisputable fact that Utah’s natural beauty is legendary. Unfortunately, our poor air quality is also becoming legendary – and not in a good way.
  • Big Money Out of Politics: Set limits on the amount of money political candidates can spend in an election. The limits would be contingent on the number of registered voters in the district or state the candidates would represent.
  • Domestic Violence: I have always believed in giving back to my community and I spent much of my college career volunteering as a victim advocate at the Community Abuse Prevention Service Agency.
  • Economy: As a successful small business owner I fully appreciate the opportunities America affords us to follow our dreams, develop our ideas, and be an important part of building our country’s exciting future.
  • Education: 7 out of 10 Utah residents want greater financial support of public education. In spite of that, Mike Lee voted to withhold supportive funding from our schools and classrooms. My wife, Annie, is dedicated public school teacher. As her husband, I have witnessed the strain and burden our overworked and underpaid teachers experience. As a father of two boys I love dearly, I am concerned class sizes will keep growing larger and larger.
