Maine Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap reported in the early afternoon that voter turnout is exceeding expectations. "I think we could be over 50%. We originally projected 35%."[1]

Ohio

Despite no reports of projected statewide voter turnout, there has been heavy turnout reported in Cuyahoga County (Cleveland Area) alone. Turnout is projected to reach over 40 percent according to Cuyahoga County elections officials[3]. However in the Cincinnati Area, voter turnout is reported to be lighter than the Cleveland Area. Voter turnout is considered heavy in some Cincinnati precincts while it is considered light in other precincts in the City of Cincinatti.[4].

At midday, Richard Murray, political science professor at the University of Houston, stated that he expects 20% of registered voters in the state to vote: "It’s surprising to me that it’s so low."[5]

Washington
According to the secretary of state's office there is an approximately 25.61% voter turnout. Approximately 98% of the vote is being cast by mail. According to reports, Pierce County is the only county with polling locations.[6]
