The Arkansas Board of Higher Education Term Limits Amendment was not on a 2016 election ballot in Arkansas as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment.

If approved, the measure would have provided that the terms of office described in Amendment 33 of the Arkansas Constitution for boards and commissions governing state institutions would not apply to a board or commission related to the management or control of a state-supported institution of higher education.[1]

Section 22, Article 19, of the Arkansas Constitution says that a majority vote is required in both houses of the Arkansas Legislature in order to send a measure to the ballot.

The Arkansas Legislature did not take action on the bill; therefore, the measure was not put on the ballot.
