The number of measures on the ballot have risen since Ballotpedia’s last roundup, as ten measures have been certified since then, leaving the count at 127 certified measures in 34 states. As those measures continue to rise, so do the categories in which they are placed in. In the categories that Ballotpedia has these measure filed under, a total of 8 categories saw an increase of certified measures.

Administration of government, state budgets, natural resources, marijuana, gambling and bond issues had their total number of measures increase by one. Three categories had their measure count jump up by two: health care and taxes.

The tax issue still has the most measures filed under it by Ballotpedia, with a total sum of 24, while the second most is bond issues, with a total of 15 measures spread out over eight states. As stated in the last ballot measure roundup, a bond issue as it applies to statewide ballots is when that state government places a question before the voters as a ballot measure, asking them to approve or deny additional proposed spending. One example of a bond issue that was added to the ballot this past month is Alaska’s Bonding Proposition A, which would allow residents in the state to decide whether to guarantee residential mortgage bonds to veterans. The revenue bonds would be issued by the Housing Finance Corporation.

Other political issues that had a significant number of ballot measures filed under them included:
