Barry A. Steelman is a judge for the Hamilton County Criminal Court in the Eleventh Judicial District of Tennessee. He was elected to the court on August 3, 2006, and was re-elected on August 7, 2014. His current eight-year term ends in 2022.[1][2][3]

Education

Steelman received his undergraduate degree from Carson-Newman College in 1986 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1989.[1]

Career

Steelman began his career as an associate attorney for the firm of Spears Moore Rebman & Williams. In 1995, he joined the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office as a prosecutor. He later became an executive assistant district attorney. He served in that position until his judicial election to the Hamilton County Criminal Court.[1][5]
