Bartolomei appointed to Minnesota Fourth Judicial District
December 13, 2011
Minnesota: Governor Mark Dayton has selected Luis Bartolomei to serve as the new judge of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District, which consists of Hennepin County. Bartolomei, appointed on December 8, will replace retired Judge Charles A. Porter. Gov. Dayton stated, "Mr. Bartolomei’s connection with the community and his experience representing so many people of many different backgrounds through the Student Legal Services at the University of Minnesota makes him very well suited to be a district court judge in Minnesota’s Fourth Judicial District."[1]
Judge Bartolomei, a University of Minnesota alumni (he received his B.A. degree in 1991 and his J.D. degree in 1994), currently represents students of that school in criminal and immigration/nationality law. He also teaches at Hamline University as an adjunct professor. He is a former attorney of James C. Selmer & Associates, P.A. and has served as an assistant public defender in the state's Third and Tenth Judicial Districts. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1994.[1]
