The Judicial Update

December 14, 2011

Mississippi: Gov. Haley Barbour appointed Chancellor Eugene Fair to the Mississippi Court of Appeals on December 14, 2011. Fair, who has served in the state's 10th Chancery District since 2007, will replace Justice William Myers, who is retiring on December 31. Gov. Barbour stated, "Judge Fair brings extensive legal experience to the bench and will be an excellent jurist for the district."[1]

Fair received his law degree from the University of Mississippi. He served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the U.S. Naval Reserve and as a private practice lawyer in Hattiesburg prior to becoming a chancellor.[1]
