Mayer ran for election to the Dunn County Circuit Court.
Primary: She was successful in the primary on February 18, 2014, receiving 39.8 percent of the vote. She competed against Roger M. Hillestad and James M. Peterson.
General: She was defeated in the general election on April 1, 2014, after receiving 48.4 percent of the vote. She competed against James M. Peterson.

Education
Mayer received an undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and a J.D. from Oklahoma University School of Law.[4]
Career
Mayer joined the firm of Schofield & Higley in 2001, becoming a partner of Schofield, Higley & Mayer in 2007. Additionally, she is the lead attorney for the Pepin County Department of Human Services and Pepin County Child Support Agency.[4]
