Funding

Sackett opted for mini reporting in this election.[3] Candidates who opted for this had to keep a record of their contributors and expenditures, but were not required to report them. If they raised and spent more than $5,000 in aggregate or received more than $500 from any one contributor, including themselves, they would have had to switch their filing status from mini to full reporting.[4]

Sackett submitted the statement below to the Snohomish County voters' guide:[1]

My name is Cindy Sackett and I am running for Edmonds School District Director #4. As a parent of two teenagers, I’ve been deeply involved in our schools for over 12 years. I'm a 14 year resident of Edmonds and cannot imagine calling anywhere else home. I am a former PTA president and treasurer, after school math coach, and para-educator. I have supported our students and teachers in classrooms, at school functions, and on field trips. I served on the board of the Edmonds Schools Foundation and proudly served as their first Executive Director.

I’ve seen tremendous progress made towards increasing equity for all students in our community and will continue this progress with an increased focus on excellence and accountability. I am familiar with how our school district operates and strongly support the great work of our high-quality teachers.

My work history and experience gives me a unique understanding of the budget and fiscal responsibility of a school board member. My volunteer experience and passion for quality education will guide my decision-making. I will always put the best interests of all our children first.

I am committed to serve and respectfully ask for your vote.[5]
