Vista is the community where I grew up and where I will continue to put my time and energy. As a graduate of this public school system and a first generation college graduate, it is my responsibility to support the next generation. I am proud to have my own family be part of the education workforce here in VUSD. All across VUSD, I have family members, friends and neighbors who are impacted by the decisions we make as a board. These challenges are part of my desire to continue to serve and ensure we get back on track. As we face financial challenges in the coming years, I am well positioned to advocate at the state and federal level for more funding. I understand the legislative process and have worked closely with all of our city, county, state and federal representatives.
  • Balanced Budget: I want to ensure that we have a balanced budget and advocate for greater investments for public education at the state and federal level. With declining enrollment, majority of school districts are faced with budget cuts. I want to make sure VUSD is getting their fair share from Sacramento and Washington DC. In addition, ensuring that we are using our resources appropriately and delivering on the key areas for our students.
  • Support the socio emotional well being of our students. We have been fortunate to have received over $20 million in funding for community schools and I will continue to ensure we grow our partnerships in the region. In addition, VUSD received a $5 million to provided mental health service to our students and their families. Our attendance is at 95% and we are leading in the region. Now that we are back from the pandemic, our students are engaged, learning and showing progress.
  • Expand opportunities for Career Technical Education and options are students have for postsecondary education. Most recently, we started an apprenticeship program at the Adult School where our students are getting an opportunity of a lifetime to learn about the construction trades. In addition, the class of 2024 received over $5 million dollars in scholarships to pursue college or other career options.
I’ve served on the school board for 7 years, fighting for the resources our students and teachers need. I’m the only candidate who’s balanced a $300 Million dollar budget and secured millions in funding for mental health programs, career pathways, and modernizing our schools. I’ve ensured every dollar is spent wisely—focusing on smaller class sizes, more counselors, and better learning environments, not on flashy, short-term fixes. With budget challenges ahead, I’ll continue pushing for state and federal funding to protect our schools from cuts. If tough choices are necessary, I’ll lead a transparent process, involving parents, teachers, and the community. You can trust me to always put students first and keep delivering results for Vista.
My parents, they came to this country as immigrants and their children are carrying the American Dream.
Vista is where I grew up and have proudly served on the school board for the past 7 years. I’m proud to have secured investments to modernize school facilities, support students’ socio-emotional needs, and upgrade vital curriculum. With declining enrollment across California and exhausted COVID-19 funds, our district faces new challenges ahead. These challenges inspire my continued service to minimize the impact of budget cuts on our students, parents, teachers, schools, and communities. Leaders like Congressmember Mike Levin and VUSD President Martha Alvarado endorse me because they know I deliver for Vista. It is important to for elected to deliver for their constituents, know the community and have a heart for public education.
Listen to all stakeholders and make the best decisions in a evert changing landscape.
It is important to show up and help be part of the solution to move our students forward. I want to ensure that we have a balanced budget and advocate for greater investments for public education at the state and federal level. Thanks to our leadership, VUSD has been awarded more than $20 million to invest in Community Schools and I will continue to champion programs that provide additional services for our families. Finally, I want to make sure that we continue to provide programs that attract students such as Career Technical Education, Dual-Language, IB Program and so many others that make our schools competitive but are also good for children.
Service to the Community and impacting public education.

To provide students with a well rounded educational system that prepares them for life.
The constituents are not just voters, they are parents, business owners, workers, and at the core, our students.
I been serving for 7 years, you have to show up. I meet with people and hear their ideas which helps drive my own decision making. We also have a large working class latino community, events that may not work for working families have been adjusted in addition to provided information in their home language.

I believe in universal design curriculum where we ensure every child is being provided an opportunity to learn regardless of your academic level.
We have added family liaisons to all school sites. We host workshops, partners with our local health care providers, the city and other government agencies to amplify our impact.
Inviting to come see what is happening at VUSD. Our staff are the best recruiters because know they what is happening inside our classrooms.
We our a public institution and we should do our best to be transparent. Our budget has been available to the public and we engaged various of stakeholders to produce a budget that reflects our priorities.
