Colorado Referendum C was on the ballot as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment in Colorado on November 3, 1992. It was approved.

A “yes” vote supported requiring voter approval before limited gambling is permitted in a political subdivision and requiring four years before another vote on gambling take place if the initial vote on gambling does not pass in a political subdivision.

A “no” vote opposed requiring voter approval before limited gambling is permitted in a political subdivision and requiring four years before another vote on gambling take place if the initial vote on gambling does not pass in a political subdivision.

Ballot title

The ballot title for Referendum C was as follows:

An amendment to section 9 of Article XVIII of the Constitution of the State of Colorado, stating that in any city, town, or county which has been granted constitutional authority on or after November 3, 1992, for limited gaming within its boundaries, such limited gaming shall not be lawful unless first approved by an affirmative vote of the electorate of such city, town, or unincorporated portion of a county, and adding a new section 10n to Article XVIII to provide for the severability of constitutional provisions.
