Daniel D. Narum

Daniel D. Narum is the presiding judge and Judge No. 5 member of North Dakota's Southeast Judicial District. Narum is based out of Ellendale, North Dakota, which is located in Dickey County.[1] He was appointed to the Southeast Judicial District bench by Gov. John Hoeven (R) on July 28, 2006, and was elected to the position in 2008.[2][3]
Narum was re-elected in the general election on November 8, 2016, to a term ending on January 1, 2023.[4]
Biography
Narum earned his B.S. in political science from North Dakota State University in 1996, and his J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1999. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 until 1990.[1]

2016
There were 23 North Dakota District Court seats up for election in 2016, all of the seats appeared on the June 14, 2016, primary ballot. There were four contested races that appeared on the ballot for the general election on November 8, 2016. Two of the contested races had open seats where the sitting judge did not seek re-election.
As only two candidates filed for the Judge No. 5 race, both advanced to the general election.

Narum was re-elected to the Southeast Judicial District of North Dakota. He received 99.46 percent of the vote in the primary on June 8, 2010.[5]
