David A. Hylla

David A. Hylla was a former judge on the Third Circuit of Illinois. He served in Granite City from 2006 to 2019, when he retired.[1]
Hylla was selected to serve as chief judge of the court in May of 2013, following the resignation of Ann Callis. He served in this capacity until 2019.[2][3][4][5]
Education
Hylla received his B.A. from Southern Illinois University and his J.D. degree (1985) from St. Louis University.[6][7]
Career
Hylla began his career with the law firm of Hopkins and Bilbrey. In 1988, he joined Pratt & Callis, P.C., where he worked as an associate, then partner, until 2000. That year, he rejoined Mike Bilbrey at the firm of Bilbrey & Hylla, P.C. He is also a former attorney for Service Employees International Union Local 98. In 2006, he was elected to the circuit court.[7]
