Eileen A. Olds was a district court judge for the Chesapeake Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court in Virginia.[1] She began serving on the court in June 1995. Olds retired on July 1, 2019.[2]

Olds was one of the two first African-American judges appointed in the First Judicial District. She was also the first female judge to serve in the district.[3][4]

Education

Olds received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1979 and her J.D. from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary in 1982.[4]

Career

Before she became a judge, Olds worked as an attorney in private practice with a focus in family and criminal defense law. She also previously worked for the State Department of Highways and Transportation and served as both a commissioner in chancery and as a divorce commissioner.[5]
