Elena Kagan to become Supreme Court's 112th justice

Washington, D.C.: Today Elena Kagan was confirmed to the United States Supreme Court. The final vote in the Senate was 63-37. Five Republican Senators voted for the confirmation of Kagan and one Democratic Senator voted against confirmation.[1]
Kagan is expected to be sworn in next week. When she becomes a Supreme Court Justice, she will be the court's youngest member and the fourth female member in the body's history.[2]
