Eric R. Janes is a district court judge for the 76th District Court, which presides over Isabella County in Michigan.[1] He was appointed to the court by Governor Rick Snyder on November 26, 2013, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge William R. Rush.[2] On November 4, 2014, Janes was elected to the court unopposed for a full six-year term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[3]

Janes received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his J.D. degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.[2]

Career

Janes practiced law with his firm of Janes, Backus and Janes from 1991 until his appointment to the 76th District Court in November 2013. He also previously practiced law with the firm of Martin, Bacon and Martin in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.[2]
