Former Superior Court judge banned from judicial office
August 10, 2010
Washington: Michael A. Hecht, former judge of the Pierce County Superior Court, has been banned from holding judicial office in Washington ever again. The Washington Supreme Court made the ruling on August 5, 2010 based on a recommendation by the Commission on Judicial Conduct. Hecht had resigned in late 2009 after being convicted of felony harassment and patronizing a prostitute. He was found guilty of engaging in prostitution and threatening to kill a man who told about selling sex to him. He has completed most of his sentence, which included 240 hours of community service, but has maintained his innocence. He claims that it was a political move against him.[1]
