Frank McClatchey
Frank McClatchey is the 3rd Ward Alderman for the City of McHenry, Illinois. He was elected on April 27, 2021.[1]
McClatchey was a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 14th Congressional District of Illinois.
McClatchey filed to run in the 14th District, but withdrew from the race when Joe Walsh announced he would not run in the 14th District and would instead run for re-election in the 8th Congressional District.[2]

- American Jobs for American People: Excerpt: "NAFTA has become a way for corporations to avoid American wage and labor laws. Similarly, Mexico’s economic growth, which was supposed to be bolstered due to NAFTA, has underperformed. This race to the bottom can no longer be accepted. As the next Congressman for the 14th Congressional District, I will put American jobs first and be a voice against trade agreements that diminish domestic jobs."
- Responsible Budgeting: "The recent Standards & Poor report regarding the U.S. Credit Rating placed responsibility in the hands of the tea party for its failure, or unwillingness, to compromise. Our issue with the deficit does need to be addressed, but it’s not the fault of Democratic leadership. We need to revamp the tax code to eliminate the loopholes that have allowed corporations to withhold $60 billion annually from the U.S. Treasury. President Reagan said it best when dealing with the 1987 debt crisis, “closing loopholes is not a tax increase.” We should also cut meaningful waste within the Federal Budget and leave Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid intact."
- Economic Recovery: Excerpt: "In Congress, I will work for legislation that will put money back in the hands of consumers and small business owners, rather than international corporations with no national loyalties. I will also work to enact trade policies designed to protect American manufacturing and domestic businesses."
- Connecting Locals with Washington: "As the next Congressman for the 14th Congressional District, McClatchey is determined to make the federal government more accessible and work for you, through a series of satellite offices, to those within his district at no additional tax payer cost. No longer will you have to attend town halls, in set locations, or commute to the district office. With my plan, government will be coming to you, for a change. Constituent Advocates will be at one of four satellite offices on a weekly bases, but as always, I will continue my long time service of holding regular face to face town hall meetings with Constituents."
Elections
2012
McClatchey ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 14th District. McClatchey sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[4] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, and the primary took place on March 20, 2012.
