The Hawaii Payment for Certain Damages to Private Property, Amendment 7, also known as Amendment 7, was on the ballot in Hawaii on November 5, 1968, as a convention referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed one addition to the constitution: Article I, Section 18. The amendment would guarantee just compensation for private property damaged as well as taken for public use.[1]
