Hugo Rodríguez Díaz (Puerto Rican Independence Party) ran for election to the Puerto Rico Senate to represent District 2. Rodríguez Díaz lost in the general election on November 3, 2020.
Rodriguez Diaz was a 2016 Puerto Rican Independence Party (PIP) candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent Puerto Rico's At-Large Congressional District.[1]

Incumbent Pedro Pierluisi (D) did not seek re-election in 2016. Jennifer Gonzalez Colon (PNP) won election, defeating Mariana Nogales-Molinelli (PPT), Hugo Rodriguez Diaz (PIP), and Hector Ferrer Rios (PPD) in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]
