The Illinois Lease of the Illinois and Michigan Canal Question was on the ballot in Illinois on November 2, 1926, as a legislatively referred state statute. It was defeated. It proposed the lease of the Illinois and Michigan Canal.[1]

Note: Although this measure gathered more "yes" votes, it was not adopted because, at the time of the vote, Illinois required that a measure receive approval from a majority of those voting in the election to be adopted. This measure did not meet that standard.
