Irene Hines was a member of the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System school board in Georgia, representing District 5. Hines assumed office in 2006. Hines left office on January 1, 2023.

Hines ran for re-election to the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System school board to represent District 5 in Georgia. Hines won in the general election on May 22, 2018.

Hines earned a B.S. and M.Ed. from Savannah State College. She worked as a teacher in the district for 32 years prior to her retirement. Hines and her husband, Frank, have two children who graduated from district schools.[1]
