James Dudley Brown, III is a judge for Division 3 of the Lea County Magistrate Court in New Mexico. He was appointed by Governor Susana Martinez on October 4, 2013, to succeed Russell D. Martin.[1][2] Brown was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires on December 31, 2018.[3]

Brown ran for re-election to the Lea County Magistrate Court.
Primary: He was successful in the Republican primary on June 3, 2014, receiving 59 percent of the vote. He competed against Larry Burns.
General: He was unopposed in the general election on November 4, 2014.

Education
Brown received an undergraduate degree in political science from New Mexico State University.[2]
Career
Prior to being appointed as a judge, Brown served as the mayor of Eunice, New Mexico for four years, the city manager for the cities of Alamogordo and Silver City and as a municipal judge for Eunice.[2]
