Jeffery E. Tobin is an associate judge of the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court in Illinois. He was appointed to this position by the circuit court judges on October 31, 2011, and was sworn in on November 14. He replaced retired Judge Tim P. Olson.[1][2]

Tobin was most recently reappointed in 2015 to a term expiring on June 30, 2019.[3]

Education

Tobin received his undergraduate degree from Illinois College in 1983 and his J.D. degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School (in Michigan) in 1987.[1]

Career

Tobin began his career in 1987 working for a law firm in East Alton, Ill. He then worked in private practice in Barre, Vt. from 1993 to 2000 before returning to the East Alton firm. He then worked as a partner of Thomson, McNeely & Tobin in Jacksonville, Ill. until 2004. Prior to his appointment to the circuit court in 2011, he worked for the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission as an arbitrator.[2]
