I am a U.S. Marine Veteran with a deep-rooted connection to Lapeer County, where I have been a resident for 46 years. Over the past two decades, I have served the community as a Lapeer County employee, currently holding the position of Executive Director of Lapeer County Central Dispatch. My commitment to public safety and emergency management led me to become a Certified Professional Emergency Manager (PEM).

In addition to my role at Lapeer County Central Dispatch, I proudly serve as the Chairman of the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority 9-1-1 Telecommunications Committee, overseeing vital communications infrastructure and developing model policies. Moreover, I am honored to hold leadership positions as the Chairman of the Lapeer County Emergency Management Advisory Committee, Lapeer County Senior Programs Advisory Committee and the Chairman of the Lapeer County Central Dispatch Technical Advisory Committee. Past chairman of the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority Technology and Cybersecurity Committee.

Throughout my career, I have been recognized as a proven leader in the local community, dedicated to enhancing the safety and well-being of our residents. My passion for public service and emergency management continues to drive my advocacy for a secure and resilient community.

• I am running for township trustee to bring a renewed sense of honor and integrity to our local government. I believe in doing the right thing simply because it's the right thing to do. My commitment to transparency and ethical decision-making will ensure that our community's trust in its leadership is upheld and strengthened.
• I believe that the best decisions for our community are made by those who live and work here. As your township trustee, I will not just prioritize, but champion the cause of maintaining local control over our communities. By empowering local voices and fostering community-driven solutions, we can address our unique challenges and seize opportunities for growth and improvement, making you feel empowered and involved in the decision-making process.
• My candidacy is driven by a genuine desire to serve and enhance our community. I am dedicated to ensuring that our township thrives by advocating for policies and initiatives that reflect our shared values and priorities. With a focus on honor, integrity, and local control, I will work tirelessly to create a safe, prosperous, and cohesive community for all residents.

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?

I believe in preserving local control over our communities. The residents who live here know best what our community needs. By prioritizing local decision-making, we can ensure that our policies reflect our unique values and address our specific challenges effectively.

I am committed to prudent financial management, ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and efficiently. We can maintain our township's stable and sustainable financial foundation by implementing transparent budgeting processes and prioritizing essential services.

I am dedicated to ensuring that all residents have fair access to essential services such as public safety, infrastructure, and recreational facilities.

Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?

I recommend "The Daily Stoic" by Ryan Holiday to anyone interested in understanding my philosophy. This book is filled with timeless advice on the art of better living, emphasizing principles such as honor, integrity, and commitment—values central to my approach to public service. By exploring the wisdom of ancient Stoic philosophers, "The Daily Stoic" offers practical guidance on navigating life's challenges with resilience, clarity, and purpose, which aligns closely with my vision for effective and ethical leadership in our community.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?

An elected official must possess a strong sense of honor and consistently uphold the dignity and respect that their position demands. This means acting with humility, treating all constituents fairly, and making decisions that reflect the community's best interests. Honor in leadership fosters trust and confidence among residents.

Integrity is paramount for anyone holding public office. It involves honesty, transparency, and ethics in all actions and decisions. An elected official with integrity ensures that their conduct is above reproach, avoids conflicts of interest, and prioritizes the community's welfare over personal gain. Integrity builds a solid foundation for effective and trustworthy governance.

One of my most vital qualities is my genuine ability to listen to and consider differing viewpoints.
