Leonard N. Zito was a judge on the Northampton County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.[1] In 2004, Zito was appointed to the court to replace Jack A. Panella, who was elected to the Pennsylvania Superior Court. Zito opted to not run for election to the court after this term, but instead served as the as solicitor for Northampton County, Pennsylvania from 2006 to 2008.[2]

Zito was appointed a second time to the court by Governor Ed Rendell in 2008 and successfully ran for a 10-year term in 2009. Zito retired from active status on the court on January 1, 2014, due to mandatory retirement.[3] He officially retired from the court, leaving his position as a senior judge, on June 1, 2019.[4]

Education

Zito earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Scranton in 1968 and his J.D. from Villanova University in 1971.[5][2]
