Mark A. Speiser

Mark A. Speiser was a Probate Division judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was elected on September 7, 1982, and took office the following January. His term expired in January of 2019.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Education
Speiser received his B.S. from the American University (in Washington, D.C.) in 1969, his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 1972, and his LL.M. (in Tax Law) from Georgetown University in 1976.[3][7]
Career
Speiser began his career in 1972 as a staff attorney for the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. In 1974, he moved to New York City to serve as a federal prosecutor for the U.S. Dept. of Justice, Organized Crime and Racketeering Strike Force. After receiving his LL.M. degree in 1976, he moved to Florida to work for a Miami law firm. A year later, he returned to D.C. to serve as a staff attorney for the U.S. House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations until 1978. He then moved to Florida for the last time. There he served as an Assistant Broward County State Attorney and a Chief Narcotics Prosecutor until he was elected to the circuit court in 1982. Throughout his career in the public sector, he also maintained a private law practice.[3][7]

Speiser was unopposed and automatically re-elected following the primary election on August 14, 2012.[8]
