Michael R. Jones (Tennessee)
Michael R. Jones was a circuit court judge for the Nineteenth Circuit Court in Tennessee. He has served on the court since 2000 and was re-elected without opposition in 2006.[1][2] Jones retired in September of 2014.[3]
Education
Jones received both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee in 1966 and 1969, respectively.[1]
Career
Jones began his career in 1969 as an attorney in private practice with the firm of Long, Walton & Wilks. He also served as a captain judge advocate general in the military early in his career. He left Long, Walton & Wilks in 1973. In 1989, Jones became a public defender for the 19th Judicial District, where he worked until he became a judge for the Nineteenth Circuit Court in 2000.[1] In September of 2014, Judge Jones retired from the court.[3]
