The New York Pensions for Widows of Teacher Retirement Systems, Amendment 5, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 5, was on the ballot in New York on November 8, 1966, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure amended Section 8, Article 7 of the Constitution. It increased the pensions of "widows of retired members of a teachers retirement system of the state or of a subdivision of the state."[1]
