Nicholas Iliff
Nicholas Iliff was a 2016 candidate for the Second Circuit Court in Maryland.[1] After the incumbent, Karen A. Murphy Jensen, withdrew from the race and announced her retirement, the election was cancelled. The Maryland State Board of Elections decided that the governor, Larry Hogan, should appoint a successor to the vacancy. Upon learning the election cancelled, Iliff made a statement:[2]
“ | I will seek the appointment, and meanwhile I will continue with my campaign, as the day will (eventually) come when the citizens of Caroline County will be voting for their next Circuit Court Judge, and I will be asking you to cast your vote for me at that time.[3] | ” |

Education
Iliff received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from St. Mary's College of Maryland and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore.[4]
Career
Iliff's professional experience includes serving as an assistant public defender for Caroline County and working as a law clerk.[4]
