Paul L. Jones
Paul L. Jones is a former senior resident superior court judge for the 8A Judicial District of the Second Division of the Superior Court, serving Lenoir and Greene counties in North Carolina. He was appointed to the court in 1999 and elected in 2000 and 2008.[1] In October 2015, Jones announced that he would retire at the end of his term in 2016.[2]
Education
Jones received his undergraduate degree from the North Carolina A&T State University and his J.D. from the North Carolina Central University School of Law.[1]
Career
Before he joined the court, Jones served as a district court judge for the Judicial District 8A and Judicial District 8B. He has also served as a supervising attorney for the North Carolina Central University School of Law Legal Clinic, a managing attorney for the Eastern Carolina Legal Services, a staff attorney with the United States Supreme Court, and a Judge Advocate General for the United States Army. Jones has also worked in private practice for twelve years.[1]
