Roybal ran in the 2012 election for New Mexico House of Representatives District 61. He was defeated by Hector M. Ramirez in the Democratic primary on June 5, 2012. Incumbent Shirley Tyler (R) did not run for re-election. Ramirez will face Republican David Gallegos in the general election on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
