Ballot question

The following question appeared on the ballot:[1]

Shall the Lund Ranch project in Southeast Pleasanton, which consists of 43 single-family homes on approximately 17 acres and 174 acres for permanent public open space and 2 miles of public trails, be approved?[2]

Impartial analysis

The following impartial analysis of the measure was prepared by the office of the Pleasanton City Attorney:

Measure K is before the voters as a result of a referendum petition. A referendum is the right of the citizens to approve or reject a legislative act. The legislative act that is the subject of this referendum is Ordinance No. 2133, which was adopted by the City Council on January 5,2016. With the adoption of Ordinance No. 2133, the City Council approved a residential project on a 19S-acre site in Southeast Pleasanton, commonly referred to as the "Lund Ranch ll project." The Lund Ranch ll project (the "Project") includes 43 new single-family homes plus 174 acres of land dedicated to the public for open space and trails.

The Project was subject to an environmental impact report certified by the City Council The report considered project alternatives and described mitigation measures to address environmental impacts of the Project. Those mitigation measures were incorporated into conditions of approval imposed on the Project.

A "yes" vote on Measure K means that a voter is in favor of the Project moving forward.

A "no" vote on Measure K means that a voter is not in favor of the Project moving forward. A majority of votes (i.e. 50 percent plus one) will determine the outcome.

The ballot pamphlet includes a full copy of Ordinance No. 2133, the conditions of approval imposed on the Project, and a Site Plan and Zoning Map for the Project.[2]
