Richard S. Scherer
Richard S. Scherer was a judge of the Minnesota Fourth Judicial District for  Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was appointed to the bench in 1994 and was elected to full terms in 1996, 2002 and 2008. He retired on August 23, 2013, and assumed senior status. Scherer passed away on June 13, 2016.[1][2]
Education
Scherer received his B.A. from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1968. He then taught at Robbinsdale Senior High from 1968 to 1970 before joining the U.S. Army. He served in the Army until 1972. After returning to Robbinsdale for a short time in 1972, he attended the University of Minnesota Law School, where he received his J.D. in 1975.[1]
