Roger Fitzpatrick
Roger Fitzpatrick was a 2016 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 9th Congressional District of Georgia.[1] Fitzpatrick was defeated by incumbent Doug Collins in the Republican primary on May 24, 2016.[2]

Fitzpatrick was born and raised in White County.

Career
Military:
- United States Marine Corps Reserves
Fitzpatrick started teaching middle school in 1984 and remained in the classroom for 14 years. The last 14 years have been spent in educational leadership positions. Fitzpatrick retired in June 2012 as principal of Mossy Creek Elementary in Cleveland.[3]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Doug Collins (R) faced no opponent in the general election. Collins defeated Paul Broun, Bernie Fontaine, Mike Scupin, and Roger Fitzpatrick in the Republican primary on May 24, 2016.[4][2]
