|Savanna Redden is a Democrat running to be the first woman U.S. House Representative in Ohio’s 1st District. Redden self-funded her education at the Ohio State University, graduating from the Scholar’s program with a business degree in Operations Management and a focus in Spanish for Business. Redden has spent most of her career in the private sector at JPMorgan Chase, GE Aviation, Aldi, and her most recent role at Vantiv, where she led the Advisor Experience Program. Redden has served as an organizer and volunteer in the Down Syndrome Community of Greater Cincinnati (DSAGC) for almost two decades and is a volunteer with the Al Hampton Mentoring Program at Oyler Community Learning Center. Her platform includes progressive policies that focus on preventing the wealth gap from widening more and bringing low- and middle-income residents better wages, universal healthcare, and affordable education. She is running for Congress to bring fact-based policymaking back to the district and to show that its representative should not be beholden to anyone but the people of Cincinnati.
- Redden is taking the more challenging path to take ZERO dollars from corporate PACs and lobbyists. She believes that public servants should only answer to their constituents and is willing to fight a harder fight in this race to prove that.
- Redden is the opposite of her incumbent; while Chabot stands for the status quo and relentless fearmongering, Redden brings facts and data in policy to show that demanding livable wages, affordable education, and healthcare is not radical.
- Redden has emphasized her upbringing, saying her experience having a sister with Down Syndrome exposed her to many of the inequalities families face regarding healthcare, education, and housing, and that many of these inequalities are not unique to families of people with disabilities, but rather affecting her entire community
