July 5, 2018: Just 23% of Americans aged 18-64 exercise enough to meet even the minimum guidelines recommended by the Department of Health and Human Services.[1] Those guidelines recommend that “people conduct muscle strengthening activities twice a week with moderate or vigorous-intensity aerobic physical activity for at least 75 minutes each week.”
Men are a bit more likely than women to get enough exercise. Those who work are more likely to exercise than those who don’t.
