March 14, 2023: Sixty-one percent (61%) of voters say that there should be a limit on how long the EPA can review a project before final approval. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that, of this group, 86% say the EPA should have no more than six months for review, including 65% who say they should have no more than 90 days.
The survey also found that voters are divided about the current state of federal environmental regulations. Thirty-five percent (35%) say they are too lenient, 29% that they are too strict, and 23% that they are about right.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on February 28-March 1, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
