October 26, 2017: The average Amazon Prime member in the U.S. spends $1,300 a year on Amazon products according to Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. The investment research firm reports that’s nearly twice as much as the $700 spent annually by non-Prime members.[1]
That spending gap is pretty significant when you consider that Amazon now has 90 million Prime subscribers in the U.S. and has continued to expand its Prime services. Those shoppers alone provide over $100 billion in revenue.
The research firm also reports that Amazon has improved its retention rates to the point where 95% of Prime members will definitely or probably renew their membership.
