Sherry Fowler Alloway is a former district court judge for the 18th Judicial District, which presides over Guilford County in North Carolina. She was first elected in 1984 and was sworn in on December 4th of that year. Alloway was re-elected in November 2012 for another four-year term that would have expired in 2016.[1][2][3][4] However, Alloway chose to step down from the bench before completing her current term and retired from the court on December 31, 2013.[5]

Education

Alloway received her B.A. degree in history education from Southern Wesleyan University in 1976 and her J.D. degree from the Campbell University School of Law in 1979.[6][7]

Career

Alloway, prior to joining the District Court, practiced law in Greensboro and High Point, North Carolina and worked as an assistant district attorney in Guilford County.[6]

2012 election

Alloway was re-elected to the 18th Judicial District on November 6, 2012, defeating Michael Troutman with 57.94% of the vote.[4][8]
