Stephen Carras is a circuit court judge for the 42nd Circuit Court in Midland County, Michigan. He was appointed to the court by Governor Rick Snyder on May 15, 2013, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Judge Jonathan Lauderbach.[1] Carras was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a full six-year term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020.[2]

Carras was re-elected without opposition to the 75th District Court in the general election on November 2, 2010.[3]

Education

Carras received his B.A. from Michigan State University, his J.D. degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, and his L.L.M. degree at the Wayne State University Law School.[4]

Career

Carras served as a judge for the 75th District Court from 2006 until his appointment to the 42nd Circuit Court in 2013. Before he became a judge, Carras practiced law with his firm the Carras Law Office, PLLC in Midland, Michigan.[4]
