Boddie was defeated in the general election for an at-large seat on the Fort Mill board of trustees on November 4, 2014. She ran against incumbents Wayne Bouldin, Diane Dasher and Patrick White, in addition to challengers Brian Boyd, Michele Branning and John Petzel.

Three of the seven seats on the Fort Mill Schools board of trustees were up for at-large general election on November 8, 2016. Board incumbents Tom Audette and Pam Martin filed for re-election and faced challengers Terrin Boddie, Don Elliott, Scott Frattaroli, Chad Meyer, and Kristy Spears. Audette won an additional term on the board and was joined in his victory by Spears and Frattaroli.[1][2]

The following are the guidelines provided by the South Carolina State Ethics Commission for campaign finance reporting:[4]

Initial report: School board candidates were required to file this report within 10 days of spending or receiving the first $500 of campaign funds. A subsequent report was not required until additional funds were raised.

Pre-election report: This report had to be filed by all candidates, whether or not there was any financial campaign activity. The report had to be filed no later than 15 days, and no earlier than 20 days, prior to the general election. The pre-election report was due on October 24, 2016.

Quarterly report: All candidates with contributions on hand were required to file this report. It was required of all candidates once they had begun to file, whether or not there was financial activity. The fourth quarter campaign finance report was due on October 10, 2016.

Final report: This was due after the campaign account was closed.

The November 4, 2014, general election in Fort Mill Schools featured four seats up for election. Incumbents Wayne Bouldin, Diane Dasher and Patrick White faced challengers Terrin Boddie, Brian Boyd, Michele Branning and John Petzel for the available at-large seats. Incumbent Wyndie Havnaer did not file for re-election.

All three incumbents were returned to their seats, while Michele Branning won her first term in office.

Funding

Candidates were required to file a quarterly finance report with the South Carolina State Ethics Commission for the November general election by October 10, 2014. This report covered the period of July 1, 2014, through September 30, 2014. Candidates were also required to file a pre-election report no later than 15 days prior to the election. A final report is due after the campaign has closed. Candidates for local school boards may not accept more than $1,000 from individuals and $5,000 from political parties.[5]
