Connecticut: On Jan. 19, 2012, Gov. Dan Malloy nominated six to fill vacancies on the Connecticut Superior Court. In making his selections, Malloy explained, "Obviously I want to make sure that each of my nominees understand the importance of upholding the law and supporting the Constitution of the state of Connecticut, but...I'm clearly looking for increasing diversity on the bench."[1] The nominees include three women, an Asian-American man (Cole-Chu), an African-American man (Mullins) and a Caucasian man (Povodator).
