Funding

Edwards opted for mini reporting in this election, according to the Washington Public Disclosure Commission.[3] Candidates who opted for this had to keep a record of their contributors and expenditures, but were not required to report them. If they raised and spent more than $5,000 in aggregate or received more than $500 from any one contributor, including themselves, they would have had to switch their filing status from mini to full reporting.[4]

Campaign themes

2017

Edwards submitted the following to the Snohomish County voters' guide:[1]

I have been a part of the Marysville School District for the past 9 years, as a parent, volunteer, PTA officer, and currently as a school secretary. I am fortunate to spend my days surrounded by passionate staff and caring students who will make an impact on our future. As a mother, I envision our schools as student centered: schools that challenge and respect students, and give them a real voice in their education. Students should not only graduate, but become good citizens who will contribute to their communities..

As a board member, I will find creative solutions to problems in our district, including partnering with community members. I will not only listen to, but respond to the needs of our families, because I am one of them. I will work alongside parents, district leadership, and students to not just improve our district, but make it thrive. I want to work for the benefit of others with an open mind, an open heart, and with two feet firmly on the ground.

It’s time to work together, risk spectacularly, and get things done in the Marysville School District. I ask for your vote so that we can begin.[5]
