Marilyn B. Rosenbaum was a judge of the Fourth Judicial District in Hennepin County, Minnesota. She was appointed to this position on July 21, 1992, and was elected to full terms in 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2012. She retired on September 8, 2014, and was appointed to serve as a senior judge from September 9, 2014, to June 30, 2015.[1]

Education

Rosenbaum received her B.A. degree from the University of Illinois - Champaign-Urbana in 1966 and her J.D. degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1969.[1]

Career

Rosenbaum began her legal career in 1967 as a law clerk for the firm of Hedrick & Lane. She joined the Leadership Counsel for Metropolitan Open Communities as a staff attorney in 1970 and, the following year, joined the Law Office of Albert A. Brown. She then worked as an estate and gift tax attorney for the IRS from 1973 to 1977. In 1977, she started Rosenbaum & Rosenbaum, where she practiced until 1979. That year, she served as a hearing examiner for the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission. She returned to private practice in 1984, working for the firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi until 1990 and then for Popham Haik Schnobrich & Kaufman, Ltd. until her 1992 judicial appointment.[1]

Rosenbaum ran for the district court unopposed in the general election November 6, 2012.[2] She received 98.64 percent of the vote.[3]
