Oscar Xavier Garcia was the judge of the 357th District Court in Texas. He was appointed by Governor Rick Perry on April 4, 2013, to fill the vacancy of retired judge Leonel Alejandro. He left the bench after losing his bid to retain his seat in 2014.[1][2] 

Education

Judge Garcia earned both his undergraduate degree and his J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.[1][3]

Career

Prior to his judicial appointment in 2013, Garcia ran a civil law office in Brownsville, Texas, where he practiced in the areas of healthcare, insurance, labor-employment and social security law.[4]
