Martin 'Marty' Lowy was the judge of the 101st District Court in Texas.[1]
Lowy ran for re-election to the court in 2014 but was defeated in the March 4 primary.[2][3]
Education
Lowy earned a B.A. from Michigan State University, going on to receive his J.D. from the Southern Methodist University School of Law.[4]
Career
Prior to joining the bench, Lowy practiced law privately for 18 years and also served as in-house litigation counsel for the division of a major bank located in Texas.[4]
Awards and associations
Lowy has been board certified in civil trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has also been chair of various committees as part of the Dallas Bar Association. He is a fellow of both the Dallas Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation.[4]

Primary: He was defeated in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 36.8 percent of the vote. He competed against Staci Williams.
