Defiance City Council Election Amendment was on the November 3, 2009 ballot measures in Ohio in Defiance County for voters in the City of Defiance.
The amendment called for eliminating the requirement to be a "qualified elector" of the city one year prior to election or appointment to the city council. The amendment, however, will not affect the 1-year city residency requirement. Supporters of the amendment argue that the current law disqualifies 18-year-olds from seeking office.[1]
